I'm getting into the mood!!!
My good friend e-mailed this to me. I thought I would share. Makes you think if nothing else. And that's not a bad thing!
Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for making me think! I am getting in the Christmas mood myself... LOVING it!
ReplyDeleteYes, it will be a Merry Christmas over here too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so waiting for Christmas but winter seems to have skipped over us. I'm sweating in November, but still hoping!!
ReplyDeleteIt will always be merry Christmas for me. What a great post!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that. I know they say that like 80% (or more) celebrate Christmas so why does the minority make all the decisions? I am thankful to live in a city where the kids still do sing Christmas songs in school. They just also sing a Hanakkuh and Kwanzaa song too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that. I very early Merry Christmas to you. I am so excited for Christmas. I am already playing Christmas Music. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great poem. What I love most about Christmas is driving around with the boys to find houses with the most christmas lights. They love that! Time with my boys is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteI will always be one who will wish people a Merry Christmas! Thanks for the great poem. So In-N-Out is a hamburger fast food chain that is only in California, Arizona, Nevada not sure about other states - but anyway they are finally making their way to Utah. It is super awesome food - always fresh hamburger and they cut their potatoes for french fries as you are watching. The only things on the menu are hamburgers/cheeseburgers, fries and drinks and shakes - that's it. If you ever get out west I would definitely recommend them!
