Defiant!!
One of the first signs I made sure I knew was "SIT". Why? Because Miss Em doesn't like to sit when she is supposed to. Like when she is in her highchair. Falling out would not be a good thing. She doesn't agree. She pushes it to the limit!
She has actually turned her back on me!!! As you can see in the picture above. She obviously thinks if she can't see me then I can't see her. She is completely ignoring my stern mommy voice as I repeatedly sign SIT!!!!! Defiance, at it's best?
And then this! I do believe she's mocking me! Or she realizes I will post this and just wants to make sure there's a good picture of herself.Waving to all her fans. What am I going to do with this monkey? It should have been straight to the corner... but, Liz and DH would not like that one bit. LOL
Oh this Dumpling lights my days with all the colors of the rainbow!
And her seat belt is as tight as I can possibly put it, she still wiggles herself out.
And I need to add, Miss Em shook her head last night..."NO"! Of course!
Absolutely brilliant!!! I have to say I'm sitting here laughing out loud because I think that's so stinking cute!!! And the second picture says it all. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThat made me giggle! What a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteOkay! Okay! I wouldn't want her to fall out, either! Our little guy used to weasel out from under the seatbelt, too. I was scared to death he'd hang himself! Had to watch him like a hawk. Finally gave up on the high chair. Just had to hold him in my lap. Good luck! You're going to need it!

I'm afraid I agree with Liz and your DH. You CAN'T put tha sweet creature in time out. You are just going to have to suck it up and deal with that defiant beauty! She makes us smile too, her personality just sparkles.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, the no has started, your in big trouble. Cute big trouble though!
ReplyDeleteI worry about the same thing...how will I EVER discipline Ella. The other day she kept pulling my hair which just fries my last nerve and I kept saying "no" and she kept laughing at me. Then I took her little hand and swatted the top of it....she gave out this little wimper and then lay her head on my shoulder.....sigh...how will I ever be able to be mean again!! I know we say this all the time...but Ella and Emmie would be such fun and such trouble together!!

ReplyDeleteI am trying not to giggle because I am sure the adoration just eggs her on. :)
ReplyDeleteBut, she is SO stinkin' cute!!!
Miss Independece!
One of the best pieces of advice we received when Alayna was about 1month old was from a couple who had a daughter with ds that was
9.
They said behavior is so important with our kids, when they go to school other kids won't care or even know at what level of math or reading our child is on. But, if our kid is running around the room out of control they will definitely notice that and it will negatively effect our child's ability to have friends and be included socially.
So true!
Just look at her standing there, wow!! I mean I know it's something she shouldn't be doing, but doing it means so much too, she is pushing you, she is difiant, she has a mind of her own. And pray do tell me how do you discipline someone as cute as that? Nope, no hope for that!!! big hugs and kisses to her
ReplyDeleteHow can you say no to that face??!! She is such a honey! Good luck trying to get her to sit! :)
ReplyDeleteHow can you say NO! to that beautiful cherub? That smile always melts my heart and makes me stop so I can gaze at her face. I love the photo op! Go Emilia Faith! Supermodel!
ReplyDeletewhew! You're gonna have your hands full, full, FULL in a couple of years. Kids sure know how to test those limits with a big, ole cutesie smile on their face. she's got you wrapped around her little finger for sure. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Love the waving in the second picture. Too adorable!
ReplyDeleteso...Carly has never been in a time out. Ever! She's 8!
ReplyDeleteShe's just too cute. Mocking you or not!!
LOL...Defiant....nah....INDEPENDENCE!!!:) Isn't it funny how we teach our children to do things, guiding them all along towards independence. And then, one day, it comes back and bites us in the you know what!! Bravo, mommy, mission.......accomplished!! How stinkin' cute:)
ReplyDeleteOh but the pony a top the head is priceless!
ReplyDeleteMy little guy was contantly wiggling out of his high chair straps no matter how tight they were too. I found a restaurant style hight chair with no tray and it is much better. No the only thing that lands on the floor is his plate...followed by his fork, spoon and tippy cup.
