Em's Heart...

Besides being big and full of love, it is also very healthy. Thank you , God! She had her cardiology appointment today. Em was born with a complete right bundle blockage, and a very small hole. There is no treatment for either and no procedures were ever done on the hole. Like I said it's tiny. She has to go back in one year for another echo and ekg, if it's all the same then she gets bumped up to two years!

This is even better news than the mall re-opening!

I know this pales in comparison to the real heart conditions I read about all to often in blogland but I still get a little nervous when she is due to see the doctor. I'm just relieved the hole is the same... which is minute and it's not causing any problems. The RBB will always be there and most likely not ever be an issue.

We are very blessed with Miss Em's health and do not for one second take any of it for granted.

  5. Great news! I always get nervous before Sammi's cardiologist appointments, too, and hers are every 2 years now. The "amount" of her heart condition by comparison to other kids with more severe heart issues doesn't matter - you are entirely justified to feel nervous or to worry about your baby and a potentially serious situation! :-)

  10. I remember when I watched them hook the Organizer up to the EKG. I couldn't talk for the rest of the afternoon. I knew I would start crying if I so much as opened my mouth. Just not easy on a mom (or a dad) when it's YOUR kid. . . . . . Happy for the good news! ~Liz

  13. Thats great news...I'm totally with you when you say never take our kids health for granted. Am ever ever thankful for Saira's health and keep praying it stays that way. Read so much on blogland about everything our friends have to go through it just reminds me over again how lucky I are.

  14. What awesome news! Although it's been 12 years since our son's open heart surgery, each time we go for a checkup, it is with anticipation... Our son will always have his murmur, but it's not been an issue, and you know, there may be lots of other kids out there with heart defects or issues, but this is your baby. We're thrilled for the wonderful checkup!

  15. Never minimize your fears by comparing Em to others... I was as nervous when Jett had his tonsils out, as I was with all Presley's surgerys.
They are our babies and it ALL matters.
Sooooo happy for the good news!
Of course Em has a heart full of love... look who's raising her! I guess you can say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
