Worrier, Warrior

Wow, it's been a while since I posted. I feel a little out of practice. Not even sure if anyone is still coming around to Daily Smiles. I just have been preoccupied with life outside of Blogger , I guess. But that's not what I'm here to talk about. I'm here to talk about a little girl named Nellie. Now, if the sound of that name just made you roll your eyes, well then you are excused. Please, by all means take your eyeballs and leave.

I'm Nellie's Warrior and I'm turning into her Worrier! Here is a beautiful , child with $7,500 in her accounts and still she sits. WHY?

She should have been scooped up ages ago! Nellie should be home.

People, are any of you on the fence about adopting? Are you willing but maybe your better half is hesitant? Are you just scared?

Can you just for a minute put those fears into the hands of God and instead think about Nellie.
Can you think about a day in her life. The same monotonous routine, looking at the same four walls day in and day out. Never leaving, and never anticipating leaving. Never a good night bubble followed by a story and a kiss goodnight. It's summer, Nellie should be picking out her favorite bathing suit and going to the beach. She should be smothered in sun screen and sand . She should smell like fresh air and salt water.
She should be outside playing and running until night time, and getting all sticky from freeze pops. Here lips and tongue should be stained from her favorite flavor.

But she sits and waits. If she waits much longer, she will go somewhere. She will get a ride. But we all know where that ride will take her. I cannot handle the thought of her being shipped to an institution.

I've been looking at Nellie waiting for too long. I've done whatever I can. I've prayed , I've posted , Ive tried to raise money. Others have too! But I cannot do the one thing for her that she needs the most. I cannot be her mama. Oh , how I wish I could. How I would love her. But someone else can. God knows who you are, maybe you are reading this, maybe you know someone who is thinking about adoption. Maybe, God is whispering in your ear. Maybe...

Take your fears to Jesus and He will give you strength. Please if you are thinking about adoption, please think about Nellie. I will help in any way I can. I will be as committed to bringing her home as the family who commits to her.

Look at this face.

Please she needs to get out of there. She needs to live with her family. She needs ice cream and baby dolls and her daddy's arms swinging her high. She needs to squeal with delight. Nellie needs her family!

  1. I think she is just a doll and wish adoption was in our future but we are unable for so many reasons. I pray she finds afamily soon b/c she so deserves one

Did you raise all of that money with giveaways? I would love to talk to you...I feel like Im failing my sweet little bogdan and getting funds raised for him...I know that prayer is the most powerful but I still want something tangible to help his future family AND my blog is not reaching a lot of people either

  2. April, I didn't raise all of her money. I am not her 5-5-5 warrior. She as someone else who loves her taking care of that.

And I really don't know how much of her money I raised.I haven't had a fund raiser for her yet, just begging in general. I'm planning one soon for her. Mostly just prayed a lot.

  3. Been missing your blog posts and sweet pics of Emilia and other kiddos :-) I wish I could give each one of these orphans a home or had enough money to personally fund all of these adoptions!

  6. Steph,
You are BREAKING MY HEART!!!!! Nellie was the first little one I fell in love with on RR, and I'm praying right along with you for her. She is so cute I can't stand it. That certain little Nellie look in her eyes... You are so right, she needs to be outside with brothers and sisters, running around this summer!!!

Thanks for posting the extra pic, too!

  7. I was just thinking I hadn't heard from you in a while! How's my Emmy?
Ray told me if we won the lottery, he was going to buy out a hotel, and rescue every child! Its so hard to rescue one, and leave the rest there!

  8. Hi Stephanie,
I read your post about the butterflies and loved it! After i read it I was thinking about the visit I had with Sarah and Joyce.
When they left my home, as Sarah got in her car she told Joyce, "Mom! Kristen is not gone, she is here!"
If anyone could feel Kristen or possibly even see her it would be Sarah.
Then yesterday after I read your post about the butterflies again Joyce left me a commnet. You need to come over and read it. It's pretty awesome.
You need a "Mother of the Year" award. As I read your posts and see the love you have not only for your own children but also for all the orphans, it makes me want to be a better person. I haven't met you but I can say you are one of the most unselfish ladies I know.
