People with Down syndrome don't have good hair. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?? This was one of my fears when I was pregnant with Miss Em. I can laugh at the sheer stupidity of it now, but at the time I was really bothered by it. I don't even know where I got such a crazy thought from. Must have been one of my more insane days.
I never heard anything about hair but there were other comments that made me fear what I now know as ridiculous "myths".
ReplyDeleteThey don't have good hair? Um...hellloooooo...
ReplyDeleteBecca!!!! I know ha! Look at Sammi!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how I laughed at myself when I first met your Sammi!!! best hair I've ever seen!!
I think I need to add a chromosome or two to have Em & Sammi hair! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt is truly ridiculous! First of all Sami, hello, hair to die for!
ReplyDeleteJax has beautiful hair, we let his get long when he was a baby because it was too beautiful to cut. Then after being called a girl multiple times, we finally gave in. And Arina, she has one gorgeous head of hair too!
Ray's co workers looked at the pic of Arina covered in paint and they were like "I thought DS kids were calm" Ray is like hello, they are typical toddlers!! We need to break these myths!
M has the most beautiful hair of all 6 of our kids. Wish I had it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHaHa....sounds like my insane thought that Down syndrome people can't go to the beach which so happened to be my post today. She has beautiful hair!!
ReplyDeleteMost of us just didn't know anyone with DS when we were growing up. It is funny the ideas that get stuck in your head when you first learn your own child has an extra chromosome.
ReplyDeleteI happened to post some pics of The Skink with her hair down in my latest blog... it's almost down to her booty!
Hi from a visit in my blog?florbrilhante.blogspot.com
