Thankful Sunday

OK, as of last night I swore I wasn't posting today. I'm in a slump to put it plainly. If I sound whiny ... sorry. We're all entitled to our moments and this is mine! That said, I realized that I'm still thankful for things in my life. They don't have to be giant things all the time. Hey, I had a friend thankful for rubber bands the other day! And ya know, seriously they are a great convenience!

I'm thankful for friends both far and near. Friends I see face to face and friends I've never laid my eyes on, but love dearly. Friends who just "get it". Thank you, you know who you are!

I'm thankful for the ability to apologize. I owe Olivia one, when she gets up. Dropped the ball on any and all mothering skills I have last night. I love you Livy and I'm so sorry last night went the way it did.

I'm thankful Bella and Sophia made it through their first gymnastics meet of the season. They did great, Bella qualified for States with a 33 , and Sophia blew me away with her skills and beauty. She was so close to qualifying, she'll get it next time for sure. She is in a higher level this year, and it's tough!! Scores needed to qualify are a 32, they just add up your score on all events. Floor, bars , beam and vault. Sophia had a 31.5 I think. So close!

And in a way, and this may sound contradictory, but in a way I am thankful for our struggles. Because of them I am a stronger person. I'm more compassionate , I can adapt to situations easily. I can live without a lot and not miss it. I don't miss out on the little things. I take nothing for granted. I judge no one by their appearance or state in life. Of course enough money to pay the bills and have something left over would be delightful, but our struggles are not in vain. There have been lessons learned.

Have a happy and blessed Sunday!

I know it's hard, some times more than others. Friends of ours are having to rent out their nice home and move to a duplex. We are trying to figure out ways to shave off more pennies so we can get through this sooner, but it won't happen tomorrow. Might as well do all we can to enjoy the day because it's going to take some time. For what it's worth, you certainly aren't alone. I know that doesn't seem like much, but it's the truth.

I try to think of struggles as a way of making us better people. We learn such valuable life lessons. Still, struggling stinks. With a great big capital S!

I have to agree with you all the way. I always wonder why we have struggles, but once we get through them, I am always thankful for them. Have a wonderful week!

Oh my dear friend...I just love how open and honest you are with each post. Being open lets other people know that they are not alone in their own struggles. Being on the outside looking in on your life....I can see that you truly have everything you need. Let me know if you figure out how to pay the bills and have some left over :)

What a wonderful post. Struggles are what tests and shows our true character, good times everyone can deal with. Sometimes we don't understand why they are there but in the end I think we know they have moulded us into stronger people. I too am so thankful for friends met and never met, I think about them everyday and how they have enriched my life.

I love your thankful Sunday's post - even when you don't feel like posting. It is nice to read about real life and to know that we all have struggles. Sometimes struggles are hard - but looking back we learn why we needed them and how much stronger we have become by living through them. I am with you on paying bills and having something left over too!! That would be nice!

I love your 'Thankful Sunday' posts. They always remind me of how much we have to be thankful for...even when it seems like the world is caving in on us.

I am thankful for struggles too...

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:6-7

and

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

as much as I hate to say it, I'm thankful for struggles as well. They've made me a stronger person and more aware of what others might be struggling with.

And yes, rubber bands are fantastic too! :-)
